The Criminal Investigations Division performs crime scene processing and evidence collection.  It conducts thorough investigations on major crimes, working closely with our District Attorney's office to ensure the timely prosecution of criminals.  These detectives support the mission of the Patrol Division by dedicating time, and resources to major crimes, that a patrol officer cannot.  Our narcotics officers conduct initial and follow-up investigations on the use and sale of illegal drugs.  Be it street level dealing or more involved supplier cases, they work them all.  Several times a year, undercover operations are held, which identify many drug dealers.  As information is gathered, it is used to make cases on suppliers, often involving Federal authorities.  The Criminal Investigations Division is commanded by Captain Phil Rollinson.
