Citizens serving on various advisory boards help run the city government by shaping and carrying out policy. A staff member is assigned to each board to assist in conducting business. Each board has a regular meeting day and time (schedules may be altered by holidays). Meetings are open to the public. Members of the public with disabilities who plan to attend a meeting are asked to call the number given prior to the meeting to confirm building accessibility. Schedules and schedule changes are announced in the Washington Daily News and on the local Government Access Channel (Washington's Cable Channel 9).
